As of October 18th, 2011, Apple has reported that it will lock back up carrier designated iPhone 4s to their specific carrier (Sprint, Verizon, Rogers, Bell, T-Mobile, AT&T) through the iTunes OS update and what is unprecedented to date, Apple will also deactivate all networks not used by your carrier during such update. In plain English, this means that if you are an international user who buys a jailbroken AT&T iPhone 4s to save money over factory unlocked, Apple's O.S. update will lock up your iPhone 4s permanently back to AT&T leaving you with an "insert carrier here" message and will deactivate the CDMA roaming capability of your mobile... just tragic!
